Persian Buddy runs again tonight 6.25 Kempton and we should learn a lot more this time as he should strip fitter for his recent spin round Lingfield. He is 66/1 but I wouldn't put anyone of having a very small ew bet on him at what could be a ridiculous price!

We would be very disappointed if our horse Cheers isn't good enough to win again this afternoon at Wolverhampton 4.40. She has been raised 5lb for winning at Lingfield but is still very well handicapped off a mark of 59. Fill your boots @11/4!

A warm welcome to Heather Main and her husband James. A native of Alabama Heather now trains at Kingston Lisle near Wantage and has done remarkably well with her small string in the short space of time that she's had a licence. Recently Ormonde Racing purchased Islesman from Heather and have kept him in training with her. We have great expectations of this son of Oratorio and we truly believe that this will be the start of a long and fruitful relationship between us.

Fantastic display by Caldermud and Steve Drowne to win so decisively on Caldermud this afternoon at Salisbury. Its been a long time coming but now we really believe we've got to the bottom of "Muddy" I think there will be plenty more to come. Olivia Maylam has done brilliantly to turn this fella around and we both think that he will fulfil his undoubted pontential. Well done Libby!

Well done to Sheena West with her Plumpton double today Alfraamsey 4/1 and Mr Haamoosh 5/1.

Being slightly wary that, like many owners I suffer from the dreadful infliction of falling in love with ones own horses, I genuinely believe that Caldermud has a great chance today. His overall profile looks somewhat sketchy but, if you take away the experimental races (Chepstow didn't handle the undulations) and the ones on the all-weather (hates Kempton and Southwell especially), and concentrate on those races where he has had his conditions (cut in the ground, galloping track) then all of a sudden he begins to look a model of consistency! We believed when we bought him that he was a sprinter as his best run as a 2 y-old came when running R Woody to 1/2 length at Goodwood over 6f. I now think that 7f is his optimum trip on soft ground and that he'll probably get a mile. If you look at his runs at Ayr (6f good-soft), Yarmouth (6f soft) and Lingfield (7 1/2f good) he stays on to good effect each time. The last of these at Lingfield he was particularly unlucky in running as he was constantly denied a run until it was too late and finished full of running. There should be no excuses today and I will be very disappointed if he is not competitive off of this mark at around 8/1. I'm having a decent ew wager.

Tuesday was a good day with a great run by Caldermud when a fast finishing 3rd at Yarmouth 10/1 into 11/2 and a good interview by the delightful Gina Bryce. We have Dubai Gem entered at both Lingfield Sat and Ayr Mon so watch this space.
